David H. Stringer for Yavapai County Attorney

I am a local attorney in Prescott and twenty-year member of the Arizona Bar. As a conservative Republican and Constitutionalist, I believe in a government of limited powers. As an attorney, I have devoted my career to protecting the Constitutional rights of my clients. As a public official I am an ardent supporter of the Bill of Rights and the Rule of Law, particularly the right of Free Speech and the Second Amendment right to bear arms. My highest political value is freedom.

Public Safety is the first duty of government. The right of the people to live in safety and security and free from predators is fundamental to civilized life. But the police power of the state is an awesome power. The government can take your property and your freedom. This power must be exercised with judgment and restraint. I believe that the rights of the people come before the rights of the government. Those who violate the rights of others must be held accountable. But we must be vigilant to ensure that the powers of government are not abused.

The most urgent issue facing Yavapai County is illegal immigration and the threat those who are here unlawfully pose to our safety and quality of life. As County Attorney, I will support the incoming Trump administration’s efforts to remove illegals from our communities. I will never allow Yavapai County to become a sanctuary for illegal immigrants.

I am pleased to announce that my Campaign Committee, Conservatives for Stringer, has filed petitions with the County Elections Office to secure my place on the Republican Primary Ballot for the position of County Attorney.

I want to thank the many hundreds of Yavapai County Republicans who have responded to my call for a County Attorney who will serve the people and not just the government, with their signatures and good wishes. The time has come to bring Yavapai County’s criminal justice system into the 21st century. I look forward to a robust discussion of the issues.
